Corvus is a fast, native Mac email client for Gmail. Your mail lives on your Mac, summaries run on your Mac, and none of it is ever sold, mined, or monetized.
We built Corvus because I wanted an email client that felt like mine — fast, native, and shaped around the way I actually work, rather than a mass-market inbox I had to adapt myself to fit.
And unlike a lot of email clients, Corvus doesn't make money from your mail. We don't sell it to advertisers. We don't hand it to third parties for analysis. We don't ship it off to a server somewhere to be mined for whatever can be extracted from it. Your email is yours. It's private, and it will stay that way.
Native from the ground up, with everything that matters happening on your machine.
Written in Swift as a real Mac app — not a web page in a window. It launches quickly, scrolls smoothly, and behaves the way the rest of your Mac does.
Sign in with Google — Corvus never sees your password. Read, write, send, search, label, archive, and trash, with your changes syncing straight back to Gmail.
Long threads get summarized by Apple Intelligence, running on-device. Your messages aren't sent to us, to a cloud model, or to anyone else — and they're never used to train anything.
There is no Corvus server. Your Mac talks directly to Google, your mail is cached locally, and search runs against your own machine — so there's no central pile of email to leak or sell.
Short, and meant literally.
Most of this isn't a matter of policy so much as plumbing: Corvus has no server to send your mail to in the first place. The full details are in our privacy policy.
Corvus supports Gmail accounts and nothing else. Gmail is what we use, so it's where we started. Other providers may come later — but we'd rather do one thing properly than several things halfway.
The name comes from the raven on my family's coat of arms. Ravens have long been messengers in myth and legend — carrying word between distant places, watching closely, remembering everything.
It seemed like the right namesake for something whose whole job is handling correspondence.
We think Corvus is pretty good. We'd like it to be better — if you have an idea, a complaint, or a question, we'd genuinely like to hear it.
